I am new to SCKLS and do not know who to ask what so who should I call?
Contact the Continuing Education Coordinator at 800-234-0529 ext. 149 or tom@sckls.info to arrange for an orientation visit. The coordinator will come to your library for this orientation.

Are there any grants available for continuing education?
Yes. Member librarians, staff, or public library trustees are eligible for reimbursement of up to $750 of registration costs to attend library-related continuing education activities during the grant funding calendar year. More information and a copy of the application form are online.

How do I reserve a meeting room or the computer lab at the SCKLS facility?
See Meeting Room Reservation form link at the Human Resource and Finanical Specialist page or you may call or email Mia Wilson, (800)-234-0529, ext. 120 to reserve rooms for meetings or trainings.

How do I set up a KLOW website?
First, go to the My Kansas Library website to request a KLOW website and to register.
Once you have received a confirmation of your registration, contact Sharon Barnes at (800)-234-0529, ext. 135 to schedule a visit to do your initial set up of your site.

I can't open a Microsoft Office file someone sent! What do I do?
Microsoft Office 2007 saves files in a different format than other versions. Download and install the Compatibility Pack to allow most earlier versions to open and edit these files.

The prices may vary by the quantity that we order, some vendors charge shipping which fluctuates and sometimes the items ordered are on sale.

When are the Grant-in-aid checks disbursed?
The Grant-in-aid checks are disbursed by the end of the month in April and October.

How often can you apply for a General Technology Grant?
You may only receive 1 General Technology Grant per calendar year (January - December). There are 2 rounds per year. If you are not awarded the grant in the first round, you may apply in the second round. Special note: School districts and Public libraries with branches and Special libraries with multiple facilities are single entities, so only ONE library per district. Public libraries with branches or Special libraries with multiple facilities will be awarded one grant per year.
